Best-selling author R.L. Stine, Mayor Lenny Curry and theater legend Audra Ann McDonald are just a few of the guests I met as the First Coast Connect intern at WJCT in Jacksonville, Florida.
First Coast Connect, hosted by Melissa Ross, is an hour-long call-in program that features local newsmakers, civic and community leaders, artists and people planning a variety of events across Northeast Florida, along with a weekly roundtable of local journalists.
Some of the responsibilities as an FCC intern includes writing articles on the most popular segment of the day, searching and scheduling guests, collecting soundbytes for the show, staff writer for the newsletter and pitching story ideas.
